Master photographer Irving Penn died aged 92 on 7th October 2009, at his home in Manhattan.

When I was just learning to be a photographer (a million years ago) one of my teachers saw the kind of work I was doing (black and white images of my friends around my hometown) and told me I should check out Robert Frank’s “The Americans”.

JPG Magazine closing update!

Over the weekend I got a note on the future of JPG Magazine and it seems thing have taken a turn for the better. It seems the current owners have had some success in find “credible buyers” to take over the site.
